Born From The Mountains
Wild Brumby Co. was born from a connection to the Snowy Mountains, the stories my dad shared with me, and a belief that the things we choose to wear can carry meaning far beyond how they look.
A deeply personal tribute to where I come from and to the values my dad instilled in me, courage, independence and staying true to who you are.
Where it began
I grew up on a farm in the Upper Murray region of Victoria, at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. It was a childhood shaped by rural life, small communities and the mountains that have always felt like home.
The Snowy Mountains were also woven through the stories my dad shared with me. Stories of the mountains, the people and the wild brumbies that have roamed them for generations.
There was something about those brumbies that stayed with me — their independence, resilience and instinct to run free.
Years later, those stories would become part of the foundation of Wild Brumby Co.
A Tribute to Dad
Wild Brumby Co. carries a piece of my dad with it.
After losing him to cancer, I knew that whatever I built next needed to mean something. I wanted to create a brand that remained connected to where I came from and carried forward some of the values he had given me.
Courage. Independence. Resilience. Staying true to yourself, even when life takes you somewhere you never expected to go.
The brumby became a fitting symbol of those values — wild, instinctive and untethered.
Wild Brumby Co. is my way of carrying those stories forward, while creating something that can become part of other women's stories too.
Finding My Own Way
My own path hasn't been a straight one.
For more than a decade, I worked within the Western fashion industry before eventually building this brand of my own. Life has taken me from the foothills of the Snowy Mountains to cattle stations across North Queensland, through motherhood, loss, change and more than a few moments where I've had to find the courage to start again.
Those experiences changed what I wanted Wild Brumby Co. to be.
I didn't want to build another jewellery brand centred around trends or what everyone else was wearing. I wanted to create something with meaning, something that encouraged women to trust themselves, back themselves and choose the life that feels like theirs.
Because sometimes finding your own way means being willing to take a different path.
